Spicy Citrus Margarita

Spicy Citrus Margarita - Hungry Twenties

Spicy Citrus Margaritas are a deliciously bright summer cocktail. Fresh jalapeño is brought to life in this margarita with freshly squeezed lime and orange juice. This is one of my favorite margaritas to make as a pitcher for an afternoon on the patio or a dinner party with friends.

Serves 1

Ingredients:
kosher salt
1 lime wedge
2 slices of jalapeño
2/3 oz lime juice*
2 1/4 oz tequila
2/3 oz triple sec
1 1/2 oz orange juice*
club soda

Pitcher - Serves 6

Ingredients:
kosher salt
6 lime wedges
12 slices of jalapeño
4 oz lime juice
13 1/2 oz tequila
4 oz triple sec
9 oz orange juice
club soda

Directions:

1. In a small ramekin add kosher salt. Take the lime wedge and rim the edges of the glass and dip in the salt.

2. Add jalapeño slices and lime juice to the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Muddle until the jalapeño slices are slightly broken.

3. Add tequila, triple sec, and orange juice. Shake until well combined.

4. Add crushed ice to glass.

5. Pour drink into glass and top with club soda and lime wedge.

Follow same directions for making a pitcher.

Pro Tip: If you have fresh citrus available to you please, please, please squeeze your own citrus. Concentrated citrus juice and fresh citrus juice are not made the same.
