Blackberry and Thyme Gin and Tonic - Hungry Twenties
 
 

Blackberry & Thyme Gin and Tonic is the perfect balance of sweet berries and fresh herbs. The combination of blackberries and gin creates a vibrant ruby color that gives you the ideal fall aesthetic.

Serves 1

Simple Syrup Ingredients:
1 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
8oz blackberries
6 thyme sprigs

Cocktail Ingredients:
1 1/2oz dry gin*
3/4 oz blackberry and thyme simple syrup
tonic water

Simple Syrup Directions:

1. In a small saucepan combine water and sugar.

2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat; stir occasionally.

3. Once simmering add blackberries and thyme, simmer for 2 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and steep for 15 minutes. Do not remove lid while steeping.

5. Remove blackberries and thyme from simple syrup using a large spoon or a strainer.

6. Store simple syrup in fridge for up to one month. Remove all blackberries and thyme leaves while storing.

Cocktail Directions:

1. Add ice to glass.

2. Add gin and simple syrup.

3. Top with tonic water and stir gently.

4. Optional: Add additional blackberries and thyme sprig as garnish.
